December 17th: Queer Open Mic with Erin Quinn O’Briant

The simple truth is that winter time, even in San Francisco, can be a drag. The holidays, your own or other peoples’, can be a drag. The music. The lights. The aggresively heteronormative commercials. The overwhelming consumerism. The feeling like you should have something to celebrate when you don’t, should be making merry even when you just ain’t feelin’ it.

But you know what? Some things really are worth celebrating, and they’re not less worth celebrating just because everybody is telling you to be celebrating something else. In fact, maybe they’re even more worth celebrating, those things that make us proud and special, spring, summer, fall and yes, even winter.

So swing on down to Queer Open Mic this season and share with us what it is that you want to celebrate, of your own volition, and traditions and society be damned!

And just a reminder, we’re still on a wonky schedule this month as we do our holiday dodging dance. Come join us the third Friday of December. Thanks!
